Against the backdrop of rapid industrialization and urbanization, the challenge of water pollution discharge is becoming ever more prominent. To achieve environmental protection and sustainable water resource use, advanced wastewater purification technology has become the core solution to this challenge.

Conventional advanced treatment methods — activated sludge, biofilm processes and coagulation-sedimentation — are widely used but each has limitations. Activated sludge is efficient, yet operation and control are cumbersome and it carries the risk of sludge bulking; biofilm processes save space and tolerate water quality fluctuations, but the media clog easily and require frequent maintenance; coagulation-sedimentation is simple to operate and effective, but generates large volumes of chemical sludge that drive up disposal costs. To overcome these industry problems, SINOKLE innovatively integrated advanced ozone catalytic oxidation technology and launched a new solution for advanced water quality upgrading.

1. Process overview

SINOKLE's new advanced wastewater treatment process uses the CDOF (Cyclonic Dissolved Ozone Flotation unit) as the core equipment. The overall flow comprises two stages of CDFU (cyclonic dissolved gas flotation) pretreatment and CDOF advanced treatment. First, secondary effluent enters the CDFU for pretreatment, where part of the suspended solids and COD are removed, laying the foundation for subsequent advanced treatment. The pretreated effluent then enters the CDOF for advanced treatment, where multiple catalytic oxidation reactions further degrade COD, making the effluent colourless and transparent with COD reliably meeting the treatment standard.

In both CDFU and CDOF treatment, ozone gas is used as the gas source throughout. The scum produced by CDFU and the backwash effluent of CDOF are both discharged to the scum removal tank, keeping the whole treatment system clean and efficient.

2. Core advantages

Efficient, compact and stable: SINOKLE's CDOF technology adopts a short-flow design that makes the whole treatment process fast and efficient. The process also has strong shock resistance, ensuring effluent reliably meets water quality requirements.

Patented, economical and energy-saving: the process holds multiple invention patents, delivering high COD degradation and excellent decolourization. Compared with conventional processes, the ozone dosing ratio is cut by one-half to three-quarters and energy consumption drops markedly.

Fast reaction and compact footprint: CDOF equipment uses multiple catalytic oxidation, giving fast reaction rates and short retention time (under 15 minutes). The process also uses skid-mounted design, occupying only one-fifth of the land required by conventional processes, greatly saving land resources.

Intelligent O&M, safe and reliable: CDFU and CDOF both adopt patented processes with stable, reliable performance. The entire system operates fully automatically in a closed pressurized mode with no risk of ozone leakage — safe and environmentally friendly. Fully automated, digitalized operation also makes O&M more convenient and reduces manual intervention and maintenance costs.

Remote support and smart control: the process supports remote monitoring, so O&M staff can track operating status in real time, identify and resolve issues promptly, and ensure stable, efficient operation.

3. Comparison with conventional technology

Compared with conventional advanced treatment processes, SINOKLE's CDOF technology shows significant advantages on several fronts: in effluent indicators, it consistently and stably meets higher standards; in equipment integration, modular design makes installation convenient and the footprint small; in operation and maintenance, a high degree of automation and digitalization effectively reduces labour costs and long-term O&M expenses.

4. Practical application cases

5. Conclusion

In summary, SINOKLE's CDOF technology, as an innovative advanced wastewater treatment process, combines high efficiency, compactness, stability and energy savings. Its multiple patents ensure outstanding performance in COD removal, decolourization and energy control. Combined with intelligent O&M features such as remote monitoring, the process is easier to operate and manage. The CDOF technology therefore has broad application prospects and huge market potential in wastewater treatment and upgrading projects.
