Innovative Breakthrough in Catalytic Ozonation for Wastewater: SINOKLE CDOF Technology in Practice
As industrial wastewater discharge requirements become increasingly stringent, catalytic ozonation has become one of the core solutions for difficult wastewater thanks to its strong oxidising power and freedom from secondary pollution. Independently developed by SINOKLE, CDOF (cyclonic dissolved-air ozone flotation integrated) technology achieves, through multiple integrated innovations, a coordinated breakthrough in efficiency, economy and environmental performance for catalytic ozonation in industrial wastewater treatment.
Technical principle and core advantages
CDOF creatively integrates three major modules: multi-path catalytic ozonation, cyclonic separation and dissolved-air flotation. At its core, an ultra-fine nano-bubble generator disperses and dissolves ozone efficiently, while a cyclonic field intensifies mass transfer so that ozone reacts rapidly with pollutants in a pressurised reactor. Compared with conventional technology, CDOF the ozone dosage is reduced to 1/5-1/2 of the conventional process, ozone utilisation reaches 99.98%, reaction time is shortened from the conventional 90 minutes to within 15 minutes, and COD removal exceeds 85%.

The technical advantages are evident in three aspects: first, a homogeneous-heterogeneous synergistic catalytic system converts ozone into hydroxyl radicals (·OH) efficiently via a specially structured fluidised catalyst; second, fully enclosed pressurised operation eliminates the risk of ozone leakage; third, an intelligent control system automatically adjusts operating parameters according to water-quality fluctuations, ensuring stable treatment performance.
Performance and case validation
In refinery wastewater treatment, CDOF technology reduces COD from an influent concentration as high as 1,105 mg/L to below 150 mg/L through stepped ozone dosing (150-1,200 mg/L). In landfill leachate treatment, it can reduce influent COD from ≤1,000 mg/L to ≤300 mg/L and colour from ≤1,000 times to ≤50 times while completely eliminating offensive odours. An oilfield fracturing flowback treatment project shows CDOF a single-unit capacity of 500 m³/h, with oil content reduced from 2,000 ppm to below 10 ppm and suspended solids removal above 85%.
Breakthrough compared with conventional processes
Compared with the Fenton process, CDOF technology requires no chemical dosing, and sludge production is only 1/40 of the conventional method, cutting the treatment cost to below 15 yuan per tonne of water. Compared with conventional ozone oxidation, CDOF the catalyst backwash regeneration system and multi-stage reaction design solve the industry pain points of easy catalyst clogging and activity decay, reducing the equipment footprint to one fifth of the conventional solution.
Application prospects and value outlook
Currently CDOF technology has already been successfully applied in wastewater treatment projects in petrochemical, landfill leachate and other industries, covering petroleum refining, new-energy battery wastewater and landfill leachate. Its skid-mounted design supports rapid deployment, and the AI monitoring system enables unattended operation, providing industrial users with solutions that are both economical and compliant.
