Oily Wastewater Treatment Innovation in Oilfields: SINOKLE's Integrated Solution
Oily wastewater treatment has long been a major challenge in oilfield operations. With increasingly strict environmental requirements, conventional technologies struggle to meet current discharge and reuse standards. SINOKLE Technologies, with its innovative CDFU cyclonic dissolved-air flotation and other core technologies, offers a completely new solution for oily wastewater treatment in oilfields.
Technical core: CDFU Cyclonic dissolved-air flotation unit
Developed in-house by SINOKLE, the CDFU (cyclonic dissolved-air flotation) unit integrates cyclonic centrifugal separation, dissolved-air flotation and microbubble technology into a distinctive process. By generating microbubbles of 5-30 microns it greatly improves oil-water separation, with single-stage oil removal above 90% and suspended solids removal above 85%.

In practice, the CDFU unit shows clear advantages. At a Congo oilfield produced water project, influent oil reached 3825mg/L; after two stages of CDFU treatment, oil fell to 27.5mg/L, and after KFM filtration the final effluent contained only 4.1mg/L, fully meeting the reinjection standard for high-permeability formations.
Innovative process combinations
SINOKLE has developed several process combinations for different oilfield water qualities. For conventional produced water it uses two-stage CDFU+KFM filtration, while for more complex fracturing flowback it uses CDFU+CDOF combined process.

These processes have clear technical features: residence time of only 1-5 minutes, far shorter than conventional flotation; purely physical demulsification with no chemicals, eliminating sludge; and fully enclosed pressurised operation that prevents oil and gas leakage. The skid-mounted design cuts the footprint to one third of conventional equipment, ideal for space-constrained sites such as offshore platforms.
Intelligent operation
SINOKLE's treatment systems integrate IoT and AI for fully automatic intelligent operation. The system monitors water quality in real time, adjusts operating conditions automatically and supports remote control and unattended operation, cutting labour costs and ensuring stable, reliable treatment.

At a Xinjiang oilfield produced water project, the CDFU+KFM combination handles 360m³/d and has run stably for years with consistently compliant effluent. Similar successes have been proven at CNOOC Weizhou produced water treatment, Yanchang Group oilfield produced water treatment and the Congo oilfield project.

Technical and economic benefits
SINOKLE's solution delivers good economics as well as treatment performance. Compared with conventional processes, operating costs fall by 20-30% and energy use by more than 40%. Equipment life exceeds 15 years with long maintenance intervals, greatly reducing whole-life cost.
Future outlook
As environmental standards rise, SINOKLE keeps innovating. The company now holds more than 30 patents, including 7 invention patents and 1 PCT international patent. In oily wastewater treatment, SINOKLE is driving the industry towards greater efficiency and environmental performance.
SINOKLE's oily wastewater solutions not only solve today's technical difficulties but also provide reliable support for sustainable oilfield development. Its innovative technology and proven practice are setting a new benchmark for oilfield environmental management worldwide.
