Application of CDOF Technology in Oil Removal and TOC Reduction for Ternary Precursor Treatment Liquid
Necessity and difficulties of ternary precursor product liquid treatment:
Ternary precursor treatment liquid contains various saturated sulfate solutions with pH maintained in the 2-3 range, making treatment difficult. Because organic reagents were used in the earlier production process, the oil content and TOC (total organic carbon) of the liquid are rather high, which adversely affects the performance of downstream products - so measures must be taken to reduce the oil and TOC content.
Conventional processes for ternary precursor product liquid treatment:
Most in the industry currently use traditional adsorption technology - specifically combined activated carbon and resin adsorption - but this process has many shortcomings:
The liquid's own characteristics require coconut shell activated carbon and special-grade resin, driving up overall cost;
Once saturated, spent activated carbon is hazardous waste whose disposal must be outsourced to specialized agencies, further increasing operating costs;
The operation is cumbersome: saturated carbon must be replaced promptly, usually every two days, requiring dedicated staff on duty;
Resin regeneration requires ethanol, which imposes extremely high on-site safety requirements and carries safety risks.
SINOKLE's latest ternary precursor product liquid treatment process:
The core of SINOKLE's newly developed treatment process for ternary precursor liquid is the application of CDOF (ozone flotation integrated unit) combined with a self-developed novel modified heterogeneous ozone catalyst. The process achieves excellent removal of oil and TOC from the liquid without destroying its ionic composition or contaminating its purity. After treatment, the oil content (including dissolved oil) can be reduced below 2 ppm - sometimes even lower - and TOC removal can reach over 60%.

Scheme diagram
CDOF The unit integrates ozone catalytic oxidation, hydrocyclone separation and flotation oil removal, supplemented by a novel specially modified heterogeneous catalyst. This new catalyst has excellent adsorption capacity and catalytic oxidation performance for oils and TOC; under the dual action of adsorption and catalytic oxidation, greases and TOC are rapidly oxidized and decomposed by ozone, while dissolved oil separates out and demulsifies, achieving efficient oil removal and TOC degradation. Compared with the current mainstream activated carbon + resin adsorption process, the CDOF process delivers far better treatment performance - especially for TOC, where traditional activated carbon and resin have almost no removal effect. Moreover, the process needs no frequent consumable replacement, greatly reducing hazardous waste (both saturated activated carbon and non-regenerable resin are hazardous waste) and thus significantly cutting treatment costs. In addition, the CDOF process runs fully automatically in an enclosed mode - simple to operate, stable and reliable - with very broad application prospects in the new energy field.

CDOF (ozone flotation integrated unit) technical advantages
It achieves the synergy of multiple technologies and is a domestically pioneering, internationally leading technology;
Ozone utilization is high, energy consumption low, and operating cost low (only 1/3 to 1/2 of activated carbon or resin adsorption processes); it produces no hazardous waste and is more environmentally friendly;
The entire treatment process adds no chemicals, produces no secondary pollution, and has no adverse effect on downstream production processes;
Fast treatment rate: the liquid's residence time in the unit is short and the overall equipment footprint is compact, saving site resources;
Operates in an enclosed, pressurized mode that effectively prevents ozone leakage, meeting safety and environmental requirements without affecting on-site personnel or the environment;
Fully automatic, intelligent operation with remote guidance support - no on-site staffing needed, reducing labor costs;
Equipped with a novel acid-resistant catalyst that works stably in acidic environments without causing metal ion contamination, safeguarding liquid purity;
Precisely controllable treatment results: oil content (including dissolved oil) can be reduced below 2 ppm and TOC removal stably reaches over 60%.
