Ozone catalytic oxidation uses the strong oxidizing power of ozone to decompose organics in water, but the conventional approach suffers from low ozone utilization and slow reaction rates. Introducing a heterogeneous catalyst markedly improves reaction efficiency. SINOKLE CDOF technology achieves efficient, green advanced wastewater treatment through multiple innovative mechanisms.

1. Mechanism of heterogeneous catalytic oxidation

The core of heterogeneous ozone catalytic oxidation is that the catalyst strengthens the reaction through three pathways:

Free-radical mechanism: the catalyst promotes ozone decomposition to generate the more strongly oxidizing hydroxyl radical (·OH), which has an oxidation potential of up to 2.8 V and degrades pollutants almost non-selectively.

Surface coordination complexation: organics adsorb onto the catalyst surface, where their molecular structure changes and they become more susceptible to ozone oxidation.

Synergistic adsorption reaction: ozone and organics co-adsorb on the catalyst surface, and the elevated local concentration accelerates the reaction rate.

SINOKLE uses composite formulations of transition-metal oxides (such as Mn, Fe, and Co), modified by atomic layer deposition to give the catalyst superhydrophilicity, high specific surface area, and fouling resistance, adaptable to a wide pH range (acidic and alkaline environments).

2. CDOF process technology innovation

CDOF combines heterogeneous catalytic oxidation with cyclonic dissolved-air flotation to form a multiply-intensified reaction system:

Pressurized reaction design: closed operation under pressure (ozone dosage up to over 1000 ppm) compresses microbubbles into ultrafine bubbles (5-30 μm in diameter), improving mass-transfer efficiency and greatly increasing ozone solubility.

Fluidized catalytic reaction: the catalyst is thoroughly mixed with ultrafine bubbles and pollutants in the swirl field, cutting the effective reaction time to within 15 minutes (90 minutes for conventional processes), with an ozone utilization rate of 99.98%.

Fully automated control system: DCS/PLC monitors tail-gas concentration, effluent ORP, and other parameters in real time, automatically adjusting ozone dosage and reaction pressure to keep COD stably compliant while reducing operating costs by 30-50%.

3. Technical advantages and application results

Compared with conventional Fenton or ozone processes, CDOF technology offers significant advantages:

Efficient emission reduction: sludge output is only 1/40 of conventional technology, with zero chemical dosing throughout the process and no secondary pollution;

Outstanding economics: treatment cost ≤15 CNY per ton of water, over 40% lower than conventional processes (≥25 CNY);

Wide applicability: successfully applied to high-difficulty wastewater scenarios in petrochemicals, new energy (e.g., CATL), and landfill leachate, with effluent COD stably compliant.
