Advanced Ozone Oxidation Process: SINOKLE CDOF Technology Cracks Refractory Wastewater Challenges
Worsening water pollution: wastewater treatment technology urgently needs upgrading
As industrialization and urbanization accelerate, water pollution grows ever more severe, with surging discharges of refractory wastewater such as landfill leachate, petrochemical wastewater and pharmaceutical wastewater. Conventional wastewater treatment methods suffer from low efficiency, strong pollutant selectivity and high secondary-pollution risk, failing to meet environmental compliance requirements. Against this backdrop, the advanced ozone oxidation process, with its strong oxidizing power, has become the core technical direction for high-difficulty wastewater treatment.
Advanced ozone oxidation process: principle and limits of conventional technology
The core of the advanced ozone oxidation process is to use ozone and the ·OH it generates (redox potential up to 2.8 V) to rapidly degrade dissolved, colloidal and suspended pollutants in water, while achieving decolorization, deodorization and sterilization. Conventional direct ozone oxidation technology suffers from slow reaction rates, low ozone utilization (usually under 50%) and high treatment cost (ozone dose ratio 2-4). The upgraded advanced ozone oxidation technology effectively breaks through these bottlenecks through combined catalytic systems; common types include O3/H2O2, O3/UV, O3/activated carbon and O3/metal catalyst.

SINOKLE CDOF process: an innovative breakthrough in advanced ozone oxidation technology
To address the pain points of conventional technology, SINOKLE developed the CDOF (Cyclonic Dissolved Ozone Flotation unit) process, creatively merging advanced ozone oxidation, cyclonic technology and dissolved-air flotation technology, paired with a self-developed supercritical catalytic oxidation system and high-efficiency heterogeneous catalyst, achieving cavitation-supercritical catalysis inside a fully enclosed pressurized vessel and building a multi-dimensional wastewater treatment solution.

High-efficiency heterogeneous catalyst
CDOF process: core technology advantages
Integrated design: the first integration of catalytic ozone oxidation, cyclonic dissolved-air flotation and coagulation, simultaneously removing COD, suspended solids, bacteria, viruses and many other pollutants;
Highly efficient reaction system: through multi-stage reactions including pressurized catalysis and hydrodynamic cavitation catalysis, the residence time is only 15 min (90 min for conventional technology), with fully enclosed operation and no ozone leakage;
Ultimate ozone utilization: ozone utilization reaches 99.98% with a dose ratio of only 0.5-1.2, and operating costs are 1/3 to 1/2 of conventional technology;
Intelligent automatic control: DCS/PLC fully automatic systems precisely regulate parameters and can optimize dynamically according to water quality, lowering operation and maintenance costs;
High-quality catalyst performance: the dedicated catalyst has strong activity, is fouling-resistant, has a wide pH adaptation range, and paired with a backwash regeneration process remains effective stably over the long term.

CDOF process case study: landfill leachate treated to surface water Class III
In a landfill leachate treatment project at a waste incineration power plant in Shiyan, Hubei, the CDOF integrated unit has a daily treatment capacity of 300 cubic meters. For high-strength leachate with MBR effluent COD of about 1300 mg/L, after the CDOF process the effluent COD was ≤400 mg/L with chromaticity ≤30 and no odor; after subsequent biochemical treatment, the final effluent reached COD ≤20 mg/L, ammonia nitrogen ≤1 mg/L and total phosphorus ≤0.2 mg/L, stably meeting the surface water Class III discharge standard and verifying the technology's reliability in high-difficulty wastewater treatment.

CDOF process has been widely applied in landfill leachate, petrochemical wastewater, pharmaceutical wastewater and other fields, providing efficient, environmentally friendly and low-cost treatment solutions for all kinds of refractory wastewater and driving the technological upgrading of the wastewater treatment industry.
