In industrial wastewater treatment, ozone oxidation is proving a key technology for difficult effluents thanks to its efficiency and environmental performance. SINOKLE’s innovatively developed heterogeneous ozone oxidation catalysts and matched process systems provide efficient solutions for a wide range of recalcitrant industrial wastewaters.

Core breakthrough: heterogeneous ozone catalysts
SINOKLE’s heterogeneous ozone catalyst uses a range of transition metal oxides (such as Mn²⁺ and Fe³⁺) as catalytic components and is prepared by multi-stage precision temperature-controlled sintering, giving strong catalytic performance, good stability and long service life. Special pore-forming technology creates a high specific surface area, and atomic deposition modification makes the surface superhydrophilic, effectively preventing fouling, scaling and plugging and enabling long-term stable operation.

The catalyst support effectively lowers activation energy, accelerates the self-decomposition of ozone in water and markedly raises hydroxyl radical (·OH) concentration. Measured data show oxidation efficiency 2–5 times that of ozone alone, with ozone utilisation above 99.98%, providing the technical basis for deep oxidation and efficient organic removal.

Process innovation: multiple technologies working together
SINOKLE innovatively combines hydrodynamic cavitation with ozonation, using high-speed turbulence to improve contact between ozone and pollutants and reduce mass-transfer resistance. Under the high temperature and pressure generated by cavitation, ozone decomposition produces more reactive species, markedly enhancing the oxidising power of the combined process.
Micro- and nano-bubble technology further improves treatment efficiency. The microbubble generation system developed by SINOKLE produces bubbles smaller than 100 μm that stay in the water for a long time and transfer mass efficiently. The instantaneous high pressure and temperature created when bubbles collapse excite the formation of more radicals, strengthening oxidation.

Industrial units deliver clear results
SINOKLE’s CDOF (cyclonic dissolved-air ozone flotation) unit innovatively combines multiple catalytic ozonation, cyclonic technology and dissolved-air flotation into an efficient integrated treatment system. The unit uses a patented reactor structure with a reaction residence time of less than 15 minutes, far below the conventional 90 minutes, and operates fully enclosed and pressurised with no ozone leakage, safe and environmentally sound.

In practice the technology shows clear advantages. Treating coking sour water with a hydraulic residence time of only 15 minutes, COD removal exceeds 90% and effluent oil content is below 3 mg/L; treating landfill leachate, COD falls from 3,000 mg/L to below 200 mg/L within 30 minutes and the effluent is clear and transparent.

Intelligent control and economic benefits
The system uses DCS/PLC automatic control to regulate ozone dose, reaction level and pressure precisely and to optimise the operating strategy automatically as water quality changes. A unique catalyst backwash, activation and regeneration process keeps catalyst performance stable over the long term and greatly reduces operation and maintenance costs.

Compared with conventional processes, the ozone dosing ratio is only 1/5–1/2 of conventional, operating costs are 30%–50% lower and the footprint is only 1/3 of conventional, giving clear advantages in both capital and operating cost.

Through breakthroughs in catalyst innovation, process optimisation and intelligent control, SINOKLE’s ozone oxidation technology provides efficient, economical and environmentally sound solutions for difficult industrial wastewater, with broad application prospects in petrochemical, pharmaceutical and landfill leachate treatment.
