As high-difficulty industrial wastewater generated in coal chemical processes, coking wastewater treatment has always been a major challenge in the environmental protection field. Drawing on years of technical accumulation and targeting the complex composition, high pollutant concentration and poor biodegradability of coking wastewater, SINOKLE has developed a pure physical oil-water separation solution centered on CDFU (Cyclonic Dissolved Air Flotation) + KHC (coalescing oil remover) as the core technologies.

Characteristics and treatment difficulties of coking wastewater

Coking wastewater mainly comes from coking, gas purification and chemical product refining processes, with 0.1-0.35 m3 of wastewater generated per ton of dry coal. This wastewater not only contains inorganic pollutants such as ammonium, thiocyanate and cyanide ions, but also heterocyclic and polycyclic aromatic compounds such as benzenes, phenols, naphthalene and pyridine, characterized by high salinity, high nitrogen concentration, high toxicity and poor biodegradability. Traditional treatment methods such as gravity sedimentation require 50-70 hours of settling time with limited separation efficiency, and also suffer from problems such as large footprint and acidic gas leakage.

SINOKLE's core technology breakthrough

SINOKLE's CDFU cyclonic dissolved air flotation technology adopts a pure physical demulsification and separation principle; by optimizing the internal flow field design, it significantly improves oil-water separation efficiency. This technology uses the density difference among the three phases of oil, gas and water to achieve efficient separation; compared with traditional flotation equipment, the separation efficiency is improved by 2-5 times. Combined with the high-precision coalescing filler of the KHC coalescing oil remover, it can effectively remove emulsified oil droplets as small as 0.1 um, with the effluent oil content stably controlled below 10 ppm.

Process advantages and innovative features

This process has multiple technical advantages: pure physical demulsification without chemical additives avoids secondary pollution at the source; the waste oil separated by the device has a low water content and can be directly re-refined to create economic benefits; fully enclosed automatic operation with no acidic gas leakage significantly improves safety and environmental performance. The equipment adopts a skid-mounted design, occupying only 1/3 of the area of traditional processes, and has strong shock resistance, able to adapt to the fluctuating water quality of coking wastewater.

Verification of practical application results

In August 2023, SINOKLE achieved remarkable results in a coking unit sour water treatment project at a large petrochemical enterprise in Henan. Facing complex operating conditions with an influent oil content of 5%-8% and over 10% during small-scale gas stripping, the effluent oil content after treatment dropped below 100 mg/L, with an oil removal rate exceeding 99% and suspended solids below 10 mg/L; all indicators were better than the technical requirements. The equipment has been running continuously and stably for more than half a year, maintaining stable compliance even under large influent fluctuations, demonstrating outstanding reliability.

Technology comparison and benefit analysis

Compared with traditional technology, SINOKLE's solution achieves breakthroughs in multiple dimensions. In a project with a treatment scale of 50 m3/h, nearly a thousand tons of light oil products are recovered annually, saving considerable treatment costs each year compared with traditional technology. Its pure physical separation method avoids the secondary pollution caused by chemical additives, and the quality of the recovered oil is significantly improved.

Through technological innovation and engineering practice, SINOKLE's coking wastewater treatment process has successfully solved the difficult problem of treating high-difficulty coking wastewater, providing reliable technical support for the green and sustainable development of the refining industry. As environmental requirements become increasingly strict, this technology will play an important role in more industrial wastewater treatment scenarios.
