Oily industrial wastewater is a common environmental challenge for industries such as oil extraction, refining and chemical processing, and mechanical processing. This type of wastewater has a complex composition, containing floating oil, dispersed oil, emulsified oil and large amounts of suspended solids. If improperly treated, it not only causes serious environmental pollution such as water body oxygen depletion and soil compaction, but also clogs downstream treatment equipment and increases operation and maintenance costs. Conventional treatment technologies generally suffer from low efficiency, a large footprint and poor shock resistance: conventional air flotation equipment requires a residence time of 10-15 minutes, with a single-stage oil removal efficiency of only 60%-80%; gravity separation equipment occupies a huge area and performs poorly on emulsified oil; and chemical demulsification requires large quantities of chemicals and easily causes secondary pollution. SINOKLE's independently developed CFU (Compact Flotation Unit) compact enclosed pressurised flotation technology, with "cyclone intensification + efficient air flotation" at its core, overturns the conventional logic of oily wastewater treatment and has become the preferred solution that is efficient, compact and environmentally friendly.

SINOKLE CFU technology is a patented new-generation highly efficient compact flotation technology. Its core innovation is introducing the cyclone principle into the air flotation system, generating uniform micro-bubbles through high-speed hydraulic shearing while using the powerful centrifugal force created by the cyclone to greatly increase the probability of collision between bubbles and oil droplets and suspended solids and the flotation rate, achieving efficient oil-water and solid-liquid separation. Compared with the hydraulic or mechanical shearing methods of conventional air flotation, CFU technology generates bubbles more stably and with a more uniform particle size, and combined with the enclosed pressurised operating design, it further improves separation efficiency and treatment stability.

The structural design of the technical system highlights the "compact and efficient" advantage: it adopts an integrated skid-mounted architecture that highly integrates functional modules such as the cyclone generator, bubble generator and separation zone, requiring no complex supporting facilities, with quick on-site installation and a greatly shortened construction period. There are no moving parts inside the equipment; automatic separation is achieved by hydrodynamic principles, reducing the risk of mechanical failure and significantly improving operational reliability. At the same time, the enclosed pressurised operating mode prevents gas leakage, completely eliminating the safety and environmental hazards of conventional atmospheric air flotation equipment, making it especially suitable for industries such as petroleum and chemicals that have stringent safety and environmental requirements.

At the control level, CFU technology supports fully automated operation, monitoring key parameters such as influent flow, oil content and suspended solids concentration in real time and automatically adjusting the operating state to achieve unattended operation. Waste oil and residue are discharged by pressure oil discharge and residue discharge, requiring no mechanical scraping device, further reducing maintenance costs and operating noise and making operation and maintenance easier and more efficient.

The core performance differences between SINOKLE CFU technology and conventional air flotation technology are clear at a glance from the parameter comparison below, with its advantages in treatment efficiency, compactness and degree of automation particularly prominent:

CFU technology has a wide range of applications, capable of treating industrial wastewater with an oil content of <= 1000 ppm and suspended solids of <= 200 mg/L. The treatment capacity can reach 500 m3/h, the medium temperature tolerance range is < 80 C, the operating pressure is > 0.1 MPa, the system pressure drop is > 0.05 MPa, and it supports multiple gas media such as air, argon and natural gas, adapting to the oily wastewater treatment needs of different industries.

Engineering practice

SINOKLE CFU technology has been applied in oily wastewater treatment projects across industries such as oil extraction, refining and chemical processing, and mechanical processing, earning customer recognition with its efficient and stable treatment performance. In an oilfield produced water treatment project, the raw water had an oil content of 800 ppm and suspended solids of 180 mg/L; after treatment with CFU technology, the effluent oil content dropped below 80 ppm and the suspended solids removal rate reached 75%, fully meeting the influent requirements of subsequent treatment processes, while the equipment footprint was only 1/5 that of a conventional air flotation system, greatly saving valuable space at the oilfield site.

In an electric desalting water separation treatment project at a petrochemical enterprise, CFU technology demonstrated extremely strong shock-load resistance. Faced with the complex working condition of influent oil content fluctuating by +/- 50%, the equipment still operated stably, with the effluent oil content consistently controlled below 100 ppm and the single-stage oil removal efficiency maintained above 82%, effectively easing the load on the subsequent biological treatment system and saving more than 600,000 yuan in annual operating costs. In addition, the skid-mounted design of CFU technology in this project allowed on-site installation and commissioning to be completed in just 10 days, 80% shorter than conventional technology, providing strong support for the enterprise to quickly achieve environmental compliance.

In a mechanical processing oily wastewater treatment project, CFU technology reduced labour costs by more than 70% through fully automated operation, with no chemical addition, avoiding secondary pollution. The treated water was clear, and part of it could be recycled and reused, saving water resource costs for the enterprise and achieving a win-win for both the environment and profitability.
