In extreme industrial environments such as chemical high-salinity wastewater, pharmaceutical wastewater and fracturing flowback fluid, the wastewater is often at an extreme pH range of strong acid or strong alkali (0-2 or 12-14) and generally contains high concentrations of chloride ions (Cl-), sulfate ions (SO4 2-) as well as large amounts of suspended solids and colloids. Such water quality poses a huge challenge to conventional filtration systems: stainless steel filters usually suffer severe corrosion or even perforation within 1-2 years; polymeric organic membranes age, deform and suffer pore-structure collapse at operating temperatures above 80 degrees C; conventional ceramic filters, though somewhat chemically resistant, lack hardness and wear easily, causing filtration accuracy to fall rapidly and leading to frequent fouling and blocking of downstream reverse-osmosis membrane units. Many enterprises spend more than 2 million yuan a year on replacing membrane elements, with frequent shutdowns for cleaning and a heavy operation and maintenance burden.

To address these pain points, SINOKLE has introduced the SiC (silicon carbide) filter, which, thanks to the outstanding corrosion and wear resistance of silicon carbide itself, is known as the ultimate filtration solution for harsh operating conditions. The filter element is formed by integral sintering; silicon carbide is second only to diamond in hardness, has an annual wear rate below 0.01%, withstands 800 degrees C continuously with an extreme tolerance of 1,100 degrees C, performs stably across the full pH 0-14 acid-alkali range, and its chemical corrosion resistance far exceeds that of stainless steel and conventional ceramic materials. By precisely controlling the sintering process, SINOKLE can customize pore sizes flexibly between 0.1 and 10 microns, reliably achieving 0.2 micron at 99% filtration accuracy with effluent turbidity below 0.1 NTU, greatly easing the burden on downstream fine-treatment units.

In the overall design, the SINOKLE SiC filter uses a modular architecture supporting rapid switching between crossflow and dead-end filtration modes. Crossflow mode is particularly suited to fluids with high suspended solids and high viscosity, such as fracturing flowback fluid, effectively reducing membrane surface fouling through fluid shear; dead-end mode suits deep-filtration scenarios with lower suspended solids where high removal is required. The accompanying combined gas-liquid backwash system regenerates the element efficiently with low water consumption: backwash water accounts for only 1%-3% of the treated water volume, far below the 5%-12% of conventional filters. Under normal operating conditions the element lasts 5-8 years, 3-5 times that of ordinary media, significantly lowering whole-life operating costs.

Table. A comparison of the SINOKLE SiC filter with conventional filtration equipment shows that it is superior in every indicator: corrosion tolerance, temperature adaptability, wear resistance and service life.

Practical application cases further verify its outstanding performance: in a high-salinity, highly corrosive wastewater treatment project at a chemical enterprise in Xinjiang, the SINOKLE SiC filter steadily reduced influent suspended solids from 100 mg/L to below 1 mg/L, markedly slowing fouling of the downstream reverse-osmosis membrane, extending membrane life by 30% and saving more than 2 million yuan a year in membrane replacement and shutdown-related costs. In a fracturing flowback fluid treatment project at an oilfield in Northeast China, even under extreme water quality of TDS 60,000 mg/L and Cl- 35,000 mg/L, after two years of continuous operation the element still maintained its initial filtration accuracy and the effluent consistently met the standard for reinjection into the formation.

In addition, the SINOKLE SiC filter can be fitted with an intelligent monitoring system that collects filtration differential pressure, effluent turbidity and flow parameters in real time, automatically starts the backwash program when fouling reaches a set threshold, and supports remote monitoring and issuance of operation and maintenance instructions. Whether facing high-temperature, highly corrosive wastewater in the chemical industry or high-salinity produced water in the oilfield sector, the SINOKLE SiC filter provides a solid and reliable technical barrier for advanced treatment and reuse of difficult industrial wastewater through its three core advantages: super corrosion resistance, extra-long service life and extremely high filtration accuracy.
