Asahi Kasei's first decade of development was achieved by expanding the production of industrial chemicals and derivatives such as caustic soda, chlorine, fertilizers, nitrocellulose, industrial explosives, cuprammonium rayon, and viscose filament (viscose filament production ended in September 2001).
