Industry Leader Profile: State Grid Corporation of China
On 30 November 2017, State Grid Corporation of China obtained the post-restructuring business license issued by the industry and commerce authorities, successfully completing the corporate restructuring of the company's headquarters. In line with the arrangements of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and the provisions of the Company Law, State Grid Corporation of China was restructured in its entirety from an enterprise under ownership by the whole people into a wholly state-owned company, and its name was changed from "State Grid Corporation of China" to "State Grid Corporation of China Limited". With this, the corporate restructuring tasks covering the headquarters, 21 second-tier units requiring restructuring and 123 third-tier and lower units were all completed ahead of schedule. The successful completion of the restructuring marked the formal entry of State Grid's deepened reform into a new stage. [1]
Power transmission (valid until 25 January 2026); power supply (within approved supply areas); dispatch abroad of labor personnel required for overseas projects commensurate with the company's strength, scale and track record; industrial investment and operational management; scientific research, technology development, power generation and dispatch information and communications, and consulting services related to power supply; import and export business; contracting of overseas projects and of domestic projects subject to international tender; export of equipment and materials required for the aforementioned overseas projects; and establishment of various production enterprises outside the country (or region). (The enterprise independently selects its business items and conducts business activities in accordance with the law; for items subject to approval by law, business activities are carried out in line with the approved content after approval by the relevant authorities; the enterprise shall not engage in business activities in categories prohibited or restricted by the municipal industrial policy.)
