Abstract: To clarify the performance characteristics of two commonly used integrated hydrocyclone-flotation oil-water separation units at home and abroad, CFD numerical simulation was employed. A reliable physical model was established, a refined discrete mesh was generated, and appropriate simulation methods were selected to study the single-phase flow field and the oil-gas-water three-phase separation efficiency. The results show that under optimal operating conditions, the cyclonic separation capability of the Type "2" separator is superior to that of Type "1". The separation efficiency of both separators increases with increasing dissolved-air water volume, split ratio and gas-dissolution ratio, with optimal values of 40%, 15% and 20% respectively.
