Abstract
When the atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit at the Cangzhou Branch of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation processes crude oil, the wide range of crude sources and their frequent variation - among other factors - lead to a low compliance rate for electric desalting wastewater and excessive oil content. This seriously affects the environmental performance of the unit and downstream treatment, disrupting the stable operation of the downstream wastewater treatment facilities.
The application of cyclonic dissolved air flotation effectively reduces the oil content of the wastewater and ensures that desalter effluent meets discharge standards, delivering considerable economic and environmental benefits.
Keywords: electric desalting and dehydration; oil content; cyclonic dissolved air flotation
